Writing & Editing
Welcome, and thanks for your interest in my writing and editing services. For more than a decade, I’ve helped organizations to communicate with confidence and style—and save time, money, and hassles while they’re at it. You’re probably visiting this page because you’re wondering if I can do the same for you.
That’s a good question. I hope you’ll shop around a bit before you decide on the writer who’ll make the best partner for you. And when you do, make a note of how many other writers out there can also say these things about themselves:
- I am an award-winning author of two books
- I have more than 10 years of experience
- I have been editor-in-chief of two large print newsletters (circulations of 10,000-plus)
- I teach workshops on writing, and address audiences of businesspeople about the impact that quality business writing can make on their organizations
- I have worked with high-caliber clients, such as Harvard Medical School
- I have experience with almost every kind of writing project imaginable
- I have experience working full-time in newspapers and in corporate settings
Oh, and most importantly: I get results! What kind of results? Let me tell you a story…
How I helped one company get breakthrough results
A couple of years ago, I was working for a consulting company that helped businesses increase productivity and safety. For the last couple of years, the company had issued a press release when Daylight Saving Time began. The press release contained tips and advice on minimizing the effects that losing an hours’ sleep could have on workers. And for the last couple of years the response had been the same: one big old yawn! Ho hum. The media had been there and done that.
In the spring of 2005, we were gearing up to do yet another boring old press release about the dangers of losing an hour’s sleep. Then I had an idea: Let’s turn the concept on its head, and issue a press release about what’s good about losing an hour’s sleep. The idea was met with intense skepticism (a typical reaction to new ideas), but I convinced the team to give it a shot. We sent out a release with the title, “2:00 a.m. was overrated anyway: 12 reasons to celebrate losing an hour this weekend” (you can read it for yourself in my Portfolio). It was lighthearted. It was unconventional. And it was just the kind of thing the media wanted.
The response? An interview with the president of the company, distributed nationally on the CBS radio network. The exposure was some of the best that the company had ever gotten in its 25-year history. Talk about results!

You can call on me at any stage of your project. For example, maybe you want me to write a brochure from scratch. Or maybe you already have a brochure, but it just needs some “punching up.” Maybe you want me to write the copy for an entire Web site—or just have me offer suggestions to improve the Web site you already have. Whether it’s writing, editing, or consulting that you need, I’m always just a phone call away.
So let’s talk
Possibly, you have a project in mind right now. Or perhaps you’re just looking around for quality writers to keep in your Rolodex for when the time comes. Either way, let’s talk and get acquainted soon. Let me answer any remaining questions you might have. Give me a call at (617) 759-6479 anytime. There’s never a charge to discuss an upcoming project, or for a price quote.
